Our family-run bed & breakfast hotel is located right in the heart of the green belt in the south of Duisburg. Originally intended as a restaurant only for funeral receptions, my family has gradually expanded the house into a small hotel. Therefore the guest rooms can be found ‘here and there’ all over the building. From the lower ground floor all the way up under the roof. A bed and breakfast hotel for individualists, who prefer uncomplicated and ‘no frills’ accommodation rather than the ‘charms’ of a faceless hotel chain. The Sportpark Wedau as well as the recreation area “Sechs-Seen-Platte” (Six-Lake-Plateau) are 5 minutes away by car or a brisk 25-minute walk through the Duisburg woods. Both, the BG clinic and the Sana clinic Duisburg are a similar distance away. The S-Bahnhof “Buchholz” (local over-ground train station) and the underground stop “Duisburg Waldfriedhof” are located 15 minutes walk from the hotel. The Train line S1 (over-ground) will take you to Düsseldorf International Airport and the U79 on the underground line will take you to the Düsseldorf exhibition centre and into the famous old town. If you travel in the other direction you will reach Duisburg main station and so Duisburg’s inner city. From here you can enjoy a walk through town to the Innenhafen (inner harbour), where you will find museums, restaurants and bars and office buildings. Our ‘Haus Scheuten” is located directly next to the city highway A59 and the motorway A3 exit Duisburg Wedau is only 8 minutes drive away. Feel comfortable in our functional yet homely rooms, all equipped with flat TV´s, private bathrooms and toilets. Large windows and light furnishings provide a friendly atmosphere. For refreshments, there is a minibar in the guest hallway. Wifi is included in the room rate and you can park free of charge at the hotel´s parking lot onside the house. Our check-in times are as follows: Monday to Friday: from 12:00 to approximately 17:00 Saturdays, Sundays and on bank holidays: from 12:00 to approximately 13:00 Should you arrive later than the times stated above, just let us know. We will provide details about how to retrieve your key from the lock safe and give you a code to do so. Every morning a delicious and varied breakfast buffet awaits you in our restaurant, where we serve delicatessen sausage from our family owned butcher, muesli and cereals, yoghurt, freshly baked rolls and bread, homemade jams and cheeses from a regional manufacturer. Your breakfast egg will be prepared to your preference and we will provide as much coffee, tea or hot chocolate as you wish. Our guest rooms can be reached via the outside stairs and breakfast is served in our restaurant on the ground floor. If you have children with you, we can provide a cot and baby bedding at no extra cost. Alternatively, for an additional charge, we can arrange to ready the sofa bed to accommodate one extra person (or two small ones). Animals are welcome in our guest house and pay an extra charge of EUR 15,- for special cleaning per four-legged. Our rooms have underfloor heating, which you cannot regulate by yourself. If you prefer to have your room more warm or colder than 21 °C during the winter, please let us know. Like most houses in Germany, we do not have air conditioning.
