About Hacienda Jimenita Wildlife Reserve

Hacienda Jimenita Wildlife Reserve is the best place to rest and relax in the Quito District. We are a 109 years old Hacienda that is run by the Cruz Lopez family. The Hacienda is in Quito, in the outside area called Pifo. We are an 18 acres Hacienda that has that has over 90 different species of birds, and the Jimenita is preserving endemic plants and trees in the Chiche canyon. With the Hacienda Jimenita Wildlife Reserve project we are supporting the preservation of 700 hectares in the Ecuadorian Amazon. It also supports a reforestation program in the Pichincha foothills, 50 hectares are getting planted with endemic trees.
