The hotel is located between Gare du Nord, and Gare de l'est which is convenient for both the local metro as well as international train travel. Sacred Heart Basilica and Place de la Republique can be reached within 20-minutes’ walk. Restaurants and fast food outlets are also available in the nearby area.
The hotel provides inexpensive accommodation with rooms that have been described as adequately sized, as well as small but cozy. The rooms are serviced daily and kept clean and tidy. While the hotel is just a few minutes’ walk from Gare du Nord, many guests found that the sound of the trains was faint and did not disturb.
The staff are friendly and helpful, seeking to provide a warm and hospitable service. Recommendations for places to visit and assistance with directions are freely given.
Some guests commented that they did not feel safe in the area, particularly in the evening. Guests reported that, while the area is not necessarily dangerous, homeless people as well as groups of men drinking and socialising in the street are a common site which may cause some guests to feel uneasy.
Some guests stated that the rooms were very small in size, as were the bathrooms and lifts. The lift may only fit one or two people and you may prefer to walk the stairs than wait for the lift service.
While most guests found the furniture to be comfortable, comments were made that the decor was outdated and could do with replacing.
