Hotel Hôtel de Genève (Geneva, Switzerland)

While no guest thought that their room-rate was particularly cheap, when compared to what else was available in central Geneva at that price they felt they received good value for money.

The hotel's location at the heart of the city was perhaps what guests most appreciated about de Geneve. They liked they could walk to all the services and attractions they wanted to see, and not bother with complicated public transport or very expensive taxis.

While it wasn't to everyone's taste, the Swiss chalet decor did have quite a few fans, who found it gave the hotel a homely feel it would not otherwise have had. They certainly liked it more than they would have the neutral and inoffensive style used by modern chain hotels.

There were many complaints that the rooms were too small. Unfortunately guests couldn't think of any solution, since hotel rooms in Geneva in that price range are pretty much always tiny.

Surprisingly for a city, and nation, which is so international in its outlook, guests report that there were only French language stations available on the hotels TV service. While it is always fun providing ones own subtitles to foreign language programs on the fly, this is not everybody's cup of tea, and many would just have liked the opportunity to watch a program or two in their own language.

Perhaps surprisingly for Geneva, the area around the hotel was described as very noisy at night, with both cars and revellers leaving the neighbourhood bars getting the blame.
