Situated in a commanding position, offering glorious views of the lakes and fells, Guest House Lake View is an Edwardian guest house offering refined accommodation in the heart of the Lake District. The three rooms are very elegant and furnished and decorated to a high standard. They all feature en-suite bathrooms and all the other amenities you’ll need for a great stay, including tea/coffee making facilities and TV’s. There’s a comfortable and spacious lounge for guests to relax and unwind. The hosts are keen cyclists and can arrange tours and route maps if required. A comprehensive breakfast of hot and cold items, making use of top quality local ingredients, is served every morning. The hosts can provide some great dining recommendations for the other two meals if required. The very charming market town of Keswick is just a mile from Guest House Lake View Guest House, but it is in the smaller village of Portinsacle which also has its own attractions.
Guests were very happy indeed with the location of the guest house. They described it as being a little ways from Keswick and a bit off the main tourist trail. This suited guests just fine, since it meant that the immediate environment was very tranquil. They also mentioned that the walk into Keswick and its amenities was only 20 minutes or so.
Guests simply couldn't speak more highly about the hosts, Catherine and Stuart. Right from the very start, when they were served tea and cake in the lounge right after check-in, guests mentioned that they were taken care of at every stage of their stay. The hosts couldn't seem to do too much for their guests and were also said to be good sources of knowledge on nearby trails and other attractions.
The breakfast served at the guest house every morning was not only praised because it was delicious and offered an extensive variety of foods, but also for the hosts willingness to properly accommodate guests with special diets, like vegetarian, gluten free etc. Guests on these diets did not feel like they were an afterthought, but that they were very well catered to. Many also mentioned liking the communal breakfast table, which got everybody talking first thing in the morning.
