Grand Traverse Resort and Spa (Acme, USA)

There's something for everyone on the nine hundred acres covered here - three championship golf courses, stunning event/conference venues, a lavish spa and health club, swimming pools, tubs, assorted shops, dining options, an indoor water park and private beach. Most enjoyed the dining (with special love going out to the Sunday brunch, poolside pizza delivery, personalized cakes special-ordered from the bakery, the ice cream shop and tower top Aerie Restaurant/Lounge)- although some opted for off-site dining options to ensure a full experience of the region. The gym, golf, ice-skating, cross-country skiing, and tennis courts were widely enjoyed and the spa was divine - especially the popular couples massages.

Comfortable, clean, quiet rooms with stylish decor. The higher you go up, the better the view you'll have over the golf courses or the bay (rumor has it that west-facing tower rooms are the best views.) Showers in some of the upper tower units can easily fit four to six people. Condos are separate and an excellent option for groups.

Charming staff are found in every department here, and they are all quite well-known for their top notch customer service skills.

Extra fees for many items, it seems, included under one "resort charge.".

A few items have gone past their prime at this locale. Air conditioning units are noisy and hot water is sporadic. Color schemes with lots of browns and tans. Dust has settled comfortably into some areas. There may not be sufficient electrical outlets available without moving furniture.

Long hallways lead from rooms to common areas and it can take a while to get places here. Some rooms don't provide amenities such as refrigerators; get clarity at booking.
