Golden Circle Apartments offers 3-star apartment accommodation overlooking the lake at Laugarvatn, just a minute away from the Laugarvatn Fontana Geothermal Baths, ábout half an hour’s drive from the southwestern section of the Icelandic ring road and an hour from Reykjavik. Free, on-site parking is available, and guests are just 15 minutes’ away from Geysir. All of the 25 apartments here are non-smoking, have either lake or mountain views, a TV, a fully-equipped kitchen, an en-suite shower bathroom and free Wi-Fi access. Tourist booking services are available on site, in addition to a garden and children’s play area. A handful of restaurants can be reached with a short walk, in addition to a supermarket. Golden Circle Apartments is just over half an hour’s drive away from the Gullfoss Waterfall, and about two hours from the Keflavík International Airport.
Golden Circle was said to be perfectly placed for accessing the attractions of the Icelandic ring route of the same name, and in particular was close to the Gulfoss Waterfall, a thermal hot pool and the Geysir geothermal area. Furthermore, guests loved the views, which ranged from mountain vistas, to lake outlooks.
Those who stayed here said they arrived to spacious and comfortable apartments with everything they needed. On top of this, guests were also happy to have plenty of free parking available on site.
Guests said that the apartments were great for self catering, especially with a supermarket close by and all the basic equipment needed for cooking found in the kitchen. For those not wanting to cook, there were also apparently a few restaurants close by.
The Wi-Fi here was sometimes not thought to be very good, with some guests struggling to connect, and a small number of Golden Circle guests said that they arrived to apartments which had not been cleaned.
Some maintenance issues were reported, ranging from a few instances of malfunctioning heating, to a few things not working in the kitchen. Unfortunately, guests also reported limited assistance from the staff in dealing with these issues, when they finally got in touch.
A handful of guests apparently had the unpleasant experience of arriving to find that they could not access their apartment, and again had issues contacting the staff in trying to figure out how they could get inside.
