The Gem Resort is right on Morne Rouge Beach. Guests describe it as especially quiet, both in terms of the ferocity of the waves, and in terms of the crowds. However it is quite literally just around the corner from the much better known Grand Anse Beach. Guests felt that that they had the best of both worlds - a quiet location to stay and play, but still close enough to the action when this was called for.
It seems many guests book at the Gems Resort so that they get a hotel with a spectacular beachfront location, but without the high prices of the luxury hotels on nearby Grand Anse Beach.
Though quite a few guests had issues with the décor, it was harder to find many who had issues with the level of cleanliness. Most maintained that the cleaning staff performed well.
