The metro journey to the busy centre of Barcelona is twenty minutes and an easy one to make. This is another world though; quiet and clean with good bars, supermarkets and shops. The views over Barcelona from the hostal are spectacular.

It takes nearly an hour to get to the resort beaches by train. Sand and sea, though, are not the main reasons for visiting Barcelona, so this is no big deal.

Not a huge choice in this district, so go to the Gothic centre via the metro. Takes about twenty minutes. Get a 10 trip ticket. Saves money in the long run and everywhere is within the zone 1 area.
