Situated in a gorgeous and tranquil spot under the pines, Garbi Hotel is a family-run establishment offering guests a little oasis away from the usual hubbub on the Costa Brava. The 52 rooms are simply furnished, but comfortable. Each features air conditioning, flat screen TV, telephone and private balcony. Many have gorgeous views over the Costa Brava and the Mediterranean beyond. There is a lovely pool area and Jacuzzi, under the shade of the pines, while families will find indoor and outdoor play areas for the children. The main restaurant specialises in Mediterranean dishes, especially locally caught seafood. In summer, the tables are put out under the pines, offering a simply exquisite location to dine. There is also a pool bar, which has jazz performances on summer nights While the hotel itself is a calm and tranquil oasis, the nearest beach is just 600 yards down the hill.

It was near impossible to find a bad word written about the staff. On the contrary, they were generally described as friendly and welcoming, but in a professional, rather than over familiar, way. Guests believed that they had clearly been very well trained and prepared.
While guests conceded that the town was tiny, the fact is that they said this made it really easy to walk to both the beach and the town centre, where they could find a few bars and cafes, particularly useful if they were looking for a change of scenery.
