The rooms, like the rest of the property, are a vision in white, and have a strong minimalist feel. Each features soundproof windows, minibar, satellite TV, telephone and in-room safe. The focus of attention at Ganimede is undoubtedly on the pool and surrounding gardens. Reception is on hand 24 hours and can assist with tours, transfers, bike rental and local information. The on-site restaurant serves healthy and delicious Mediterranean dishes with pride, with great wine pairings available from the adjoining wine bar. The main attractions must surely be the hotel’s own pool area and the nearby beach, but there are also some interesting Roman ruins about two miles away at protected archaeological sites.
Of course it had to be Ganimede's pool area that most impressed guests. In fact, they did seem impressed with the entire property, saying that it was very stylish and well decorated. But it was the pool that they most enjoyed, especially when the summer heat was really turned up.
Again and again guests mention how kind and helpful the staff were. Even at times when guests felt the hotel was understaffed, it was said that they would make strenuous efforts to meet their reasonable expectations.
Whatever tiny problems guests had with their rooms, cleanliness certainly wasn't one of them. Many went out of their way to say that their rooms were simply spotless on check-in, and were also maintained to a high standard during their stay.
The hotel provides its own private club on the beach nearby. While guests certainly appreciated that this service was available, they did seem to feel that the fee charged was far too high for the services offered.
This was only mentioned a few times, but was a major issue for those mentioned it. They did not like that there were no tea or coffee making facilities in their room. While hot drinks could certainly be obtained elsewhere in the hotel, they would simply have liked the ability to make themselves a hot beverage with no fuss whenever the mood struck.
It was mentioned that Sperlonga does not have a railway station, and that other ways to reach it via public transport were quite complicated. It was suggested that it would be more suitable for those with their own cars.
