Set around a gorgeous pool and garden terrace the Hotel Gaia Royal is a resort style hotel in an idyllic position near the beach. It offers activities and entertainment for the whole family. Rooms are elegantly furnished and feature satellite TV, air conditioning, refrigerators and telephones. All have either a balcony or veranda. There’s fun and activities for all ages, including a tennis court, fitness program and competitions and activities for the children. For emergency supplies there is also a mini-market in-site. There is Wi-Fi available throughout. The lounge, buffet restaurant and main bar are all in the central building, along with reception. The restaurant serves international cuisine, and also has regular theme nights. There is also a pool bar offering drinks and snacks poolside. The airport is less than seven miles away, while the ferry port in Masticahari is three miles from the Hotel Gaia Royal.
By far the most mentioned positive point, guests really appreciate that the beach and promenade is just a few steps from the hotel. Aside from time spent by one of the hotel's pools guests tend to spend much of the reminder on the beach.
There were multiple comments that guests never had to fight for a sunbed around the pool. Or get up at 4AM to reserve theirs. Or fight off people of X or Y nationality to get one. Unlike many other resorts, the pool area at the Gaia Royal seems to be a civilised affair, with enough sunbeds for all
There were very few complaints about the food at the hotel. The vast majority of guests found the food delicious and ample, and also mentioned that it did not seem to get tired and repetitive as their holiday progressed.
While the hotel is in a lovely beachfront area, it is not really near any major centres. Some guests felt a bit isolated, and wished they had booked somewhere a bit closer to nightlife.
The entertainment teams at the hotel do not get high marks, neither those aimed a children, nor those for adults. It was felt that their performances were a bit half hearted.
The hotel only offers the all-inclusive option, and some guests felt that they were misled as to exactly what that included. They felt that the hotel was charging them extra for some things that should have been included, but wasn't. Furthermore, the isolated nature of the resort meant there wasn't much they could do about it.
