With a fantastic location between the Gare du Nord and Sacré Cœur, the Hotel Gérando Hotel offers a little bit of French class in an area with many nondescript commuter hotels. All rooms at the Hotel Gérando are soundproofed, and feature private bathrooms, flat screen TV’s with satellite channels, telephones and hair dryers. The reception is open 24 hours. Pets are allowed on application, and free Wi-Fi is available throughout. A continental breakfast is served daily, while the world’s gastronomic capital lies just beyond the doors for all your other dining needs. Anvers Metro station is a mere 100 yards from the hotel, while the gare du Nord is just 0.5 miles, well within walking distance. Sacré Cœur is just 700 yards away, though there’d be some steep climbing along those 700 yards. The Louvre is easy to reach by metro, and is 1.6 miles to the south.

The Gérando is situated in an area between the Gare du Nord and Sacré Cœur, in an area with many small hotels. Guests describe the location as very convenient for those arriving by Eurostar. A taxi wouldn't be needed to get to the hotel. Also mentioned is that the proximity to the Anvers Metro Station, which makes getting around Paris relatively easy.
While there were definitely quite a few guests who had some issues with the Gérando, the general feeling was that it was a budget option in a great location. Most guests were very satisfied with the value they received during their stay.
While there were some dissenters, the overwhelming majority of guests describe the staff as very friendly and helpful, with great advice and recommendations. Also mentioned was that they seem to be truly multilingual.
While many guests concede that it was perhaps not reasonable to expect large rooms in this location at the room rate they received, they do still commented that the rooms are extremely tiny - best used for sleeping and bathing.
Several guests pointed out that to reach the lift, which was described as “tiny”, they had to first climb a flight of stairs. While this didn't exactly render it useless for able bodied travellers, those with mobility issues should definitely take it into account.
Many guests strongly recommend avoiding the hotel's breakfast, which has been described as “a cup of coffee and a croissant”. It is not typically included in the room rate so it is easy to do. Several guests recommend a bakery just across the road as a much better breakfast option.
