Truly welcoming hosts
The owner, Baudilio, and his wife were both said to be the perfect hosts, offering a hearty welcome, and being quite prepared to help their guests by providing local information and other assistance..
Set in a commanding spot, with spectacular views over the Atlantic, Finca La Hacienda offers comfortable self catering accommodation in a remarkably peaceful rural location. The apartments are simply furnished and decorated in a rustic style, with cooling tile floors. Each features en-suite bathroom with hydromassage shower, separate sleeping and lounge/dining areas, equipped kitchenette, satellite TV and free Wi-Fi. The property is a working farm, and guests are welcome to explore it and the gardens within reason. There is a very cosy on-site restaurant, with a very rustic feel. It serves Canary Island cuisine with pride. Food and portions are hearty, rather than the tiny portions of peculiar food one may get at a place being too trendy. There are some great mountain hiking routes mapped out that start right from the farm. Those who like the action to be on the water will find Tenerife’s north coast just a 15-minute drive away.

The farmhouse has truly amazing views over the village below and out over the endless Atlantic beyond. It was likely one of the main reasons that most booked this accommodation, and going by their comments it does not seem that they were disappointed.
The atmosphere at the farmhouse was said to be about as different from that at a typical Spanish mega-resort as it is possible to be. Guests had clearly booked here to get complete rest and relaxation and again, going by there comments were certainly not disappointed.
Though there is a village a bit below the farmstead, guests insisted that it is not a practical location for those without a car. Even getting to the nearest supermarket would be a very long trek, let alone to the coast or elsewhere on the island.
This was a curious complaint, but did have some logic to it. There is no air conditioning, and while air flow through the apartments can help with cooling, it was pointed out that air can't be made to flow through at will and at all times. It was speculated that the thick walls of the old farmstead contributed to the humidity that was said to “hang” in the apartments themselves.
Although not listed as a major issue, it was said that the Wi-Fi left a great deal to be desired, perhaps as a consequence of the rural location.
