Fendoch Guest House offers award winning and cosy family run accommodation in a beautiful spot in Crieff, the gateway to the Highlands. A number of Highland attractions are within easy reach. The four rooms are decorated in a classic country style, and feature private bathrooms, satellite TV’s, tea/coffee stations and alarm clocks. There is a cosy resident’s lounge, where guests can relax and socialise, perhaps over a glass of Scotch. Breakfast is served in the dining room, which has a wonderful view out over the Sma Glen. Lunch and dinner can be prepared by prior arrangement, or the hosts can recommend other good local dining options. Fendoch Guest House is in a tranquil rural area, but Crieff is 6.5 miles away, while Scotch lovers will find the Famous Grouse Visitors Centre 6.1 miles from the guest house.
Without a doubt, the aspect that most impressed guests was the guest house's wonderful location in the Highlands. Guests loved that it overlooked the Sma' Glen, and found the location and outlook to be just what they were looking for when travelling to the Highlands.
The hosts, Nan and Graham Waugh, come in for very high praise by the guess at Fendoch Guest House. Aside from the warm welcome they received, guests comment that they are exceptionally knowledgeable, and more than wiling to share some of that knowledge with their guests.
A couple of guests mention that Graham is an “early adopter” of technology, so even though they were in the remote Highlands they never really felt like they were disconnected from the world beyond.
While several guests happily comment that they saw Red Squirrels, and other wildlife, in the gardens, this set up expectations in other guests that couldn't always be met. On some days the squirrels didn't cooperate, and perhaps remained in their dreys eating acorns.
While not a common complaint, it was mentioned that at least one of the four rooms may be a tad small. Guests who like their space are advised to check their room beforehand.
It may be a cliché, but one does get the impression that for most guests the only negative aspect of their stay at Fendoch was that they had to leave at the end of their stay. Certainly, many state that the will be returning.
