Nestled by the attractive beaches of Amoudara, Hotel Eleni Palace offers proximity to the beautiful coast as well as the entertainment and restaurant district, which is easily accessible by foot. The apartment studios are adorned with beds, a kitchenette, ample closets and simple furnishing. The kitchenette comes with a small stove top, sink and refrigerator. The rooms are also made accessible for disabled guests. The hotel offers family-friendly activities with a children’s playground, outdoor swimming pool and barbeque facility. An English breakfast is served daily at the hotel's dining room. You can get all sorts of snacks and meals at the poolside snack bar that serves tea, coffee as well as desserts. While the hotel is not directly on the beach, this fact did not seem to bother any guests since it was described as just a short stroll away. The beach was perhaps the main reason they had decided to holiday in Crete, so they were happy that it was so nearby.
While guests did seem to have one or two issues with the hotel, after listing them many went on to add that the room-rate they received was particularly good, and in the end concluded that they had received very good value for money.
It is unclear whether all rooms have them, but it was clear from the reviews that many guests were surprised to find basic cooking facilities in their rooms. They found them very useful since they could prepare simple meals or heat things up in the microwave.
It was mentioned that there was often no one to be found when guests presented themselves at reception to ask a question, or perhaps report an issue. It wasn't a significant issue, since they could usually be found in the pool area, or somewhere else nearby, but was a tiny but inconvenient.
While this is hardly unique to this hotel, it was reported that the hotel, and surrounding areas, were both very quiet in the off-season. Some of the hotel's facilities were closed (such as the pool) and also many of the cafes and shops nearby.
Most guests seemed to realise that this would be an extra charge, so were not shocked by it. But of course those not expecting it would be disappointed to find that they needed to pay extra to cool their rooms in the blazing summer heat.
