Guests noted the rooms are fairly spacious and enjoyed the somewhat newer beds, which many found to be quite comfortable. They also enjoyed being able to take a shower with ample hot water and good water pressure.

According to many guests, the hotel is a prime choice if you're visiting the Schlitterbahn, and they noted that there are ample restaurants and shops nearby. It is also conveniently located on I-35, which makes travel throughout the area a breeze to attractions like Historical Gruene, the golf course or any of the nearby parks.

Many guests stated that most of the staff members were friendly and polite and tried to be as accommodating and efficient as possible.

Given the unique décor dating back to the German owners, guests stated that they expected an old-fashioned property with unique charm and décor. However, many were a bit surprised by the extent of it, stating that the interior design, the furniture and some of the appliances weren't all that satisfying and could use some modernization.

While the rooms appear clean and are taken care of on a regular basis, some guests noted that the housekeeping staff would do well to tend to the more permanent issues such as stained flooring, bedding and an odor.

Several guests pointed out that there is basically nowhere to sit, and the breakfast selections are extremely limited and don't always appear to be too fresh.
