The location of French Mountain Inn is really good. It is positioned right amongst the Lake George Outlets, so you can do lots of shopping. It is also just a ten minute drive to Lake George and plenty of attractions are less than a mile away.
If you want to hang out at the hotel, then the outdoor pool is heated and clean. It's relaxing to take a swim there.
Many of the furnishings at French Mountain Inn are really rather old and not in a good state of repair. The beds feel like they need to be replaced and there is paint peeling by the doors. The floors could use some attention too as some of the tiles are coming away. There is often something of a musty odor in the air as well.
As well as the beds being somewhat hard, there are other problems with the guestrooms. Some of the amenities are lacking and you'll clearly hear every step that is taken in the room above you. There are no coffee-making facilities, so you can't have a hot drink in the morning and, on your last day, you will have to check out at the very early time of 10am.
The level of cleanliness here sometimes leaves a lot to be desired.
