District République is a smoke-free hotel a short walk away from the Picasso Museum. Guests can update friends and loved ones over the free in-room Wi-Fi.
All rooms boast air conditioning. Guests will lounge on the premium bedding, peruse the digital channels on the flat-screen television, and place valuables in the in-room safe. Each private bathroom features a shower and free toiletries. A coffee/tea maker is included, and a hairdryer can be provided upon request.
The front desk at District République is staffed 24 hours a day, and additional amenities, including a roll-in shower, can be provided. Luggage storage is available.
In the morning, a continental breakfast is offered for an additional fee. Room service can be requested during certain hours of the day and evening.
Museum Georges Pompidou and Forum des Halles are approximately a 15-minute stroll away. Notre Dame Cathedral is within a 25-minute trek of the property.
The hotel is located a bit away from the main central area of Paris, in a nice, quiet neighbourhood. You'll be able to rest and relax in peace. That said, it's still convenient to the nearest metro lines, making it easy to get to the popular areas of the city.
positive:
Incredibly friendly staff
French people have a reputation for rudeness, but that's nowhere to be found at this guesthouse. The staff is friendly and helpful, whether you need information about the area or have a request during your stay.
positive:
Clean, well-appointed rooms
The rooms, while cosy, make good use of the space. Which is why the majority of guests still find them pleasant. In addition, the cleaning staff takes their job very seriously and maintain the rooms in spotless condition.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Rooms are compact
Many hotels in Paris have small rooms, and this is no exception. Plus-size or tall guests may feel cramped, and they might have trouble with the smallish beds and the tight spaces in the bathrooms.
negative:
Bathrooms offer little privacy
The bathrooms are only separated from the rest of the room by a sliding frosted glass door, which may not even close properly. If you're staying alone, this shouldn't be a problem of course; but if you're travelling with others and need your privacy, it's worth taking into consideration.
negative:
Some guests have found the area uncomfortable
There are a few nearby streets that guests have occasionally complained about - with run-down buildings and shady-looking characters hanging about. That said, you should take care (no matter where you go) when travelling away from home.
