Some rooms with amazing views
Guests in the rooms facing the canal were very impressed with the view. It was described as tranquil and lovely, and the kind of scene that left them in no doubt that they had arrived in the heart of Venice.
Situated on one of Venice’s most charming canals, De L’Alboro Hotel offers boutique accommodation in the classical Venetian style. The rooms have that classical Venetian feel, but perhaps a little subdued, and feature en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning, minibars, hairdryers, TV’s and in-room safes. Reception is open limited hours, and can assist with local information and luggage storage. A simple breakfast is served every morning, but for other meals there are any number of great dining options nearby. Reception staff will be happy to offer recommendations. The central location means that many of Venice’s attractions are just a short walk away. Both St Mark’s Square and the Rialto Bridge are 700 yards from De L’Alboro, and the surprisingly grand La Fenice Opera House about 300 yards. Guests will find Saint Angelo’s vaporetto stop, from where they can explore the Grand Canal.

Given that the hotel is on a small canal right in the heart of the city, it was inevitably this location that guests most liked about the property. They were just happy to be at a location in the centre of the city, and well within walking distance of its star attractions.
A number of guests reported being surprised by just how quiet their rooms were at night. Given the central location, they had perhaps been expecting a bit of noise, but it seems the hotel is in an unusually quiet spot.
While guests didn't seem to have any issues with the functionality of the rooms, they just felt that the rooms were a bit dated. To them, the furniture and décor was not so much “classical”, as merely a bit old.
Like most buildings in Venice, De L'Alboro does not have a lift. The stairs are described as steep, making hauling one's bags to the top floor an exhausting exercise.
Going on the large number of complaints about the air conditioning not working properly, it seems there may be a widespread problem due to poor maintenance or age that results in many of the units not being effective.
