Hotel D Varee Diva Kiang Haad Beach (Hua Hin, Thailand)

Guests did not have many good things to say about the town of Hua Hin, with the exception of the beach. So the fact that the beach is just steps way from the hotel was the major plus point in their eyes.

It might be a cliché to refer to Thailand's reputation as “the land of smiles”, but guests at the hotel really did feel the truth of this slogan. They invariably describe the staff as friendly and willing to go the extra mile to meet guest's expectations.

Though the courtyard pool bellow is not highly regarded, guests loved the atmosphere and views from the rooftop pool above.

The design of the courtyard pool is such that it pretty much never gets any sun. While a couple of guests commented that this was sometimes welcome, the majority found that the lack of sun made it a gloomy place, and they preferred to go to the rooftop pool or the beach instead.

The rooms facing the highway are invariably described as much too noisy. The rooms in other parts of the hotel, not so much. So it's best to request a room as far from the highway as possible.

While other meals at the restaurant were praised, breakfast was described as being paltry and inedible, and the coffee as being weak and very peculiar. It may be a good idea to rather have breakfast at a café in the nearby shopping centre instead.
