Hotel D&D Inn (Bangkok, Thailand)

Top of the building and a major asset is the rooftop pool. What a splendid setting in which to relax and take in the unique atmosphere that Bangkok has to offer.

Members of staff are very nice and friendly and to be fair, they do warn you about the very real noise problem. This, of course, is completely outside the hotel's area of responsibility.

Everything here is spotlessly clean and very well maintained. Wi-Fi works well - although some guests say that their Wi-Fi only works with the door open! This Khao San Road location couldn't be more convenient and will be the envy of fellow tourists who you bump into. *Keep them envious and don't mention the terrible night-time noise problem! If ever there was a hotel where the upgraded accommodation option is worth the extra money - this is it!

You need to settle your hotel account at checkin and in cash.

There's no denying the extreme levels of noise that are endured here and that are at their worst in the front rooms. The hotel obviously acknowledges the problem as it includes earplugs (*not very good) in the facilities. The noise isn't pleasant during the day, but it can go on until a very inconvenient 3am.

The prospect of an early morning swim in the pool quickly loses its appeal when you see the surface of the pool layered unappetizingly with the sun tan lotion and yucky sweat residue from yesterday's bathers. A more intense cleaning programme would solve the issue.
