Positive Reviews

positive:

Absolutely flawless service

The service at d'Angleterre is described as impeccable, and exactly what one expects from a top luxury hotel. Guests feel like they become VIP's when walking through the door. Even those who are not VIP's in real life.

positive:

Great location and outlook

The location overlooking Lake Geneva and the Jet d'Eau is most impressive, while the proximity to the boutiques and markets of Geneva allow many to make the most of what becomes a bit of a luxury shopping trip.

positive:

Like being in an art gallery

There are great original artworks liberally scattered around the hotel, both in the rooms and in the public areas. Guests have described how they feel as if they are walking into a tastefully curated art gallery.

Negative Reviews

negative:

Limited facilities other than dining

While there are very few negative guest impressions, and this one isn't particularly common, it is perhaps the most important to highlight. Aside from the dining and drinking venues, there are not a lot of public facilities at d'Angleterre. Many guests, for example, wish that there was a spa area, or at least a gym, in the hotel. Guests who appreciate extra in-hotel amenities should know that these are somewhat thin on the ground at d'Angleterre.

negative:

Floors creak underfoot

Guests admit that this is a very minor point, but a couple do mention that the floors in the hallways tend to creak when being crossed. Though there are no confirmed reports of haunting at present.

negative:

Restaurant food a little too salty

Another fairly minor point, but more than one or two guests complain that their meals at Windows Restaurant were a bit too salty. While this is often a matter of taste, it is probably best to confirm your own requirements with the waiter or maitre‘d beforehand.
