Breakfast and other menus for afternoon tea and evening dinner are impressive and appealing. They are matched only by the reality of the food that is served. At breakfast, for example, there's as much as you can eat and tea and coffee is of a good standard. Naturally, there is, throughout, an emphasis on freshly sourced, local produce. They've thought of everything … there's even a fridge in the dining room. Stocked with drinks, just help yourself and enter drinks in the Honesty Book.

Away from the glorious countryside, it's only a few miles to the busy town of Chorley (*famous for its castle … and cakes!). Nearer ‘home', there's an excellent local pub but, watch it! - at some times of the year, it isn't open every day.
