Situated on the famous Rue des Martyrs leading up to Montmartre, Hotel Clauzel is an unpretentious budget hotel. Well placed for visiting central Paris, this typical Parisian building is just a four-minute walk from the St Georges Metro station. The 38 en-suite bedrooms include triple and quadruple rooms. Some have balconies, and all are equipped with flat-screen televisions. Hotel Clauzel operates a 24-hour front desk and a small lift. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available whilst guests can also make use of a communal TV lounge and computer in the lobby. A continental breakfast is available for a small supplement whilst there are many eateries in the surrounding streets. La Pantruche, just 240 metres away, is widely considered to be one of the finest bistros in the area, serving top class, creative French dishes. The hotel is within about a kilometre of major attractions such as the Sacré-Cœur basilica, the Moulin Rouge and the grand department stores on the Boulevard Haussman.

The hotel's location is found to be ideal by some guests who mentioned there are various restaurants and markets within a close walking distance. The metro is also a close five-minute walk. The Sacred Heart and Moulin Rouge are within walking distance.
Many guests were happy to have stayed here for the price as they found the basics were covered nicely. The rooms were clean, the space adequate and the staff friendly. The location is also good and bathrooms clean.
Most guests agree the staff members were nice individuals ready to help the guests with any queries. They spoke various languages well and helped give adequate directions and advice on the location.
The hotel's look was described as run down and in need of a renovation. Some guests were not impressed with the overused furnishings, the lack of simple mini bars or tea and coffee makers, and there is no air-conditioning available.
Some guests mentioned they had received bed bugs during their stay, with one confirming with a doctor to be these bugs. This was a real turn off for these guests who will not be coming back. It was one of the worst things that could happen and it did.
The sounds heard from the next door neighbours, such as the TV and their conversations, could be heard by the guests. The noise coming from the outside was also found to be distracting. These guests would have preferred a better sound isolation.
