This casual boutique hotel is located in the heart of Carson City, just a block away from the Nevada State Museum. Alongside it's central location, the City Center boasts helpful staff, peaceful surroundings and close proximity to local attractions. The hotel has 83 unfussy yet clean and comfortable guest rooms, all of which feature cable TV, minifridges and coffeemakers as standard. Upgraded accommodations offer fireplaces, washer/dryers and kitchenettes with microwaves. Guests can relax in the quaint lounge area – replete with fireplace -- in the lobby. Complementary Wi-Fi is accessible throughout and on-site parking is available free of charge (RV's included). An elevator serves all floors. The hotel offers no dining options although drinks and snacks are on-hand via lobby-based vending machines. There are several off-site eateries located within walking distance. Carson Airport is less than four miles from the City Center. Lake Tahoe is a 30-minute drive away.
You'd think that having comfortable beds would be the highest priority for every hotel in the world. Unfortunately this is rarely the case. Thankfully, the managers of the City Center have bucked the trend and invested in good quality beds and mattresses that have pleased the vast majority of guests staying here completely.
If you're visiting Carson City to enjoy some time at the tables or slots then this is definitely the right hotel to stay at: it runs a free 24-hour shuttle bus service to the Carson Nugget Casino!
All of the rooms here enjoy complete peace and quiet during the night, even those situated at the front on the first floor. Truly, you wouldn't think that this hotel was right in the heart of downtown Carson City.
It's unusual to stay at a hotel of this size and not be offered any hot food options whatsoever. Happily there is a decent cafe nearby ('Heidi's') as well as few others a little farther on which are more than happy to fill your belly whenever you get low on fuel.
You may want to pack some ear plugs just in case you get allocated a room adjacent to the elevator shaft. Poor soundproofing ensures the sound of the cars going up and down travels far more than it should!
Put the lack of hot food and noisy elevator shafts to one side and you'll more than likely enjoy your stay here as the City Center is -- generally speaking -- a pleasant place to lay your head for a few days.
