Guests complimented the hotel's manicured gardens and said that being able to enjoy the views of extensive grounds from their rooms was one of the highlights of their stay. You won't find any noisy bars and pubs in the vicinity so if you are looking for a relaxing country gateway then you certainly won't be disappointed.
The overall hygiene levels have been described as being quite high with guests complimenting the housekeeping staff for making sure that their rooms were kept clean and tidy. Guests said that the rooms had plenty of furniture including arm- chairs and spacious wardrobes which contributed to a comfortable stay.
Guests were impressed with the grand appearance of this 18th century building as well as the extensive private grounds. Much of the interior still has the original period features which made the guests feel like they were stepping back in time. If you prefer old-world charm as opposed to ultra-modern accommodation then you will certainly be in your element.
Some guests remarked that they waited longer than expected to receive their orders at the on-site bar whilst others mentioned that they found the service at breakfast rather slow and disorganised.
Late evening noise from the corridors prevented some guests from getting a peaceful night's sleep whilst those who stayed on the lower floors said that they could hear quite a bit of noise from the outside as the windows did not have secondary glazing.
Due to the age of the building several plumbing related issues have been reported by the guests including slow drainage of sinks and showers as well as low pressure . Some guests also objected to insufficient hot water.
