Hotel Chalet Kaya (Les Menuires, France)

The hotel is situated high up on the ski slopes which gives you direct access to many of the runs right from the doorstep so guests have no distance to travel in order to get to the main attraction.

The rooms, while being cosy are still a generous size and the suites with separate bedrooms and living areas are well suited to families and bigger groups, for example. All units have sufficient space for luggage as well as ski gear.

All your ski gear needs are catered to by the on-site shop, not to mention there are spacious ski-rooms in each room should you be travelling with your own gear. The hotel is also right next door to an ESF centre where people of all ages and levels can take lessons for the slopes.

Previous guests have noted that the fitness centre is quite small and lacks variety in the available machinery and equipment required for a well-rounded workout. Many however have enjoyed the indoor swimming pool and there are several outdoor activities to make you break a sweat.

Les Menuires doesn't generally have much in the way of après-ski nightlife for example, so it's not quite the entertaining destination for party-seekers that some of the other resorts are. It is however perfect for families, couples and of course all fans of the slopes.

Although Le Restaurant K and La Terrace have fabulous atmospheres, menus and quality, they are rather expensive so for at least some of your meals you may want to look around the area and the village for alternatives.
