Unbelievable staff.
The staff at Sol Cayo Guillermo bed over backwards to see to their guests needs, not even asking questions before seeing to the request. Any private events held at this hotel are also seen to with ease, and the event goes off without a hitch.
positive:
A gardener supreme.
The small touches put in place at Sol Cayo Guillermo show guests how much pride the staff take in their work. The onsite gardener shapes the hedges into animals, and leaves fresh flowers for the guests along his way.
positive:
Clean and tidy, always.
While the rooms are not luxury, they are always kept clean and tidy, even throughout one’s stay. Guests can go about their business and come back to their rooms knowing that everything will be clean, and their personal belongings are safe.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Dated feeling.
The Caribbean-style this hotel is going for is lost a little with the dated décor in the rooms. Guests have found that they feel the rooms could stand to be revamped, as the price per room is a little on the steep side.
negative:
Supply of bottled water not nearly enough.
In Cuba, it is not recommended one drink the water out of the tap. Guests are supplied with bottled water for them to consume for the duration of their stay. Unfortunately, the resupply of these bottles is not done very well, and guests have found themselves having to request more, especially if they are avid water drinkers.
negative:
After dark entertainment is noisy.
The popular disco has been moved to one of the bars at Sol Cayo Guillermo, which means, any guests staying in rooms near to this nighttime festivity, might find the noise level of the merrymakers and music, to be too much. In this case, requesting rooms away from the noise is then recommended.
