Hotel Casa Los Herrera (Hermigua, Spain)

The hotel is quite small and family-owned. This puts a level of customer service into the stay and the staff is friendly and welcoming. Some speak English. They provide breakfast each day and can cook to order.

The hotel is close to the centre of town, which is great if you like to explore. Just a short walk will get you to shops and restaurants. There are also bus and taxi stations within easy walking distance of the hotel entrance.

The accommodations are clean and comfortable. There is a nice pool with sun terrace and the common lounge area is large and relaxing. The hotel also has an honesty bar, which is convenient and saves on trips out for cocktails.

The hotel lacks a lot of details that would push this into a luxury stay. There are no tea and coffee facilities in the room. Instead, it's kept in a stairwell. Some rooms can be very small and dark and there are a lot of stairs and steps to common areas.

Some rooms only have lamps that don't give enough light for reading. The Wi-Fi service is poor and some rooms with a view look onto the sides of buildings instead of scenic nature.

Even though you're out of the city, there is a lot of noise to disturb restful slumber. The church next door tolls all night and the neighboring roosters will have you hopping out of bed early. All this plus other farm animals and traffic noise can create quite a cacophony.
