The guest rooms here are immaculately clean. Comfortable beds, made up with soft linens, lots of fluffy towels and loads of great amenities like an iPod docking station, in-room safe and dependable Wi-Fi make for a great, enjoyable stay.

It's great that this hotel is a non-smoking property, especially if you do not imbibe and like your room smelling fresh and clean rather than like the scent of stale, second hand smoke.

Because this hotel is situated right next to a train station, the constant hum of trains is hard to avoid and may keep you up at night. Add to that, the very loud sound of music which emanates from the bar, just below the guest rooms, which continues on into the wee hours and there is no escaping the noise.

There is no car park on property at Carriages and the spaces available for parking are in an alleyway behind the hotel which seems iffy, especially because there is no security there.

The rooms here are on the small side which could prove problematic for those who need extra room to manoeuvre, are travelling with more than one person or have a lot of luggage in tow.
