The hotel is so close to the beach - and to the bus stop; so visits to Malaga and Fuengirola are easy and cheap. In addition to the hotel's café/bar (*breakfast is really, quite good here), there are numerous alternatives; all within easy walking distance.
At breakfast and at other times, bar food is very good and appetising. Staff members are friendly. Another option (*and very cheap) is Centro de Mayores, just behind the beach. Well worth a visit. For cheap snacks, there are plenty of convenience stores within strolling distance.
Rooms are pleasantly decorated and kept immaculate by members of staff who are friendly and helpful. Air conditioning is good, Wi-Fi; less so. There's always plenty of hot water in the shower though.It's well worth planning ahead and specify the need for a room, with balcony, on the top or higher floors ... and at the back of the hotel. The sea views are stunning.
Unless you have a deep understanding of the Spanish language, forget about the TV; there are no English speaking channels whatsoever.
You don't appreciate it, till it's not there … but there is no (much needed) tea and coffee facility in the room. Neither is there any complementary water; something which is fairly standard these days.
They cut back on a lot of things that we now take for granted and expect to be provided. For example ‘complimentary toiletries'. There aren't any here!
