Welcome to Hotel Canek. We provide economic lodging in downtown Palenque, Chiapas. We are located half a block from from center plaza. Our hotel is clean, personal are friendly and helpful, rooms are air conditioned with ceiling fans, private bathroom, WI-FI service throughout and cable TV. Canek means Star Serpent it is a three story building with spacious rooms. On roof there is a palapa with hammocks where you can observe surrounding jungle and nearby mountains. Palenque is a vibrant festive town with many different cultures. Nightly there is music and other activities in the plaza. Near hotel there are shops and vendors selling artisan crafts, restuarants, coffee shops, banks, fruit and vegetable stands, clothing stores and other businesses to meet your needs. Less than 15 minutes away are the famous temple sites of the ancient Mayans of this region. Nearby are beautiful waterfalls, rivers and lakes for your enjoyment. Surrounding jungle is home to many animals, birds and flora of our region. We also provide tour service to many wonderful places in Chiapas. On roof is a small romantic room we call the mini-suite with it own private patio for your enjoy if you so choose.
