The seventeenth century, Grade 2 listed, Hotel Burford House is 5-star rated and provides bed, breakfast and dining accommodation in the very heart of Burford, in the Cotswolds. Rooms at Burford House include a 4-poster bed option. They all have generously proportioned en-suite facilities and amenities that include telephone, flat screen television/DVD player, bottled water, beverage facilities, free Wi-Fi, toiletries, desk and homemade cookies! The sitting room’s wood burning stove provides a relaxing atmosphere and the Garden Room is the place to go for afternoon tea, pre-dinner drinks, or a nightcap. A full choice of breakfast and dinner menus is offered plus, there are a number of alternatives close by. These include The Bull, Golden Pheasant and Spice Lounge. The pretty medieval town of Burford is twenty miles west of Oxford and about half an hour from Cheltenham and Stratford-upon-Avon. Parking in the town is free!

Served piping hot, there’s plenty of choice and the quality is just great.

A parking oasis.
Burford is unusual in that there are no parking charges in the town. This reduces the disappointment of the hotel not having a car park. Parking frustrations continue, though, when spaces disappear and the oasis dries up.

There are no designated hotel parking spaces. There is unlimited parking on one side of the road, but that assumes that you can find a space. These are as rare as hen’s teeth in Burford! The nearest car park, as such, is about 5 minutes walk away. Fingers

It’s so bad. Probably best to forget about it completely for a few days.

There are no great numbers staying here but breakfast seems to catch staff by surprise and on the hop. The end result is service delays from, it has to be said, largely inexperienced staff. The evening menu prices are also startling and very high. This i
