Hotel Bristol (Zürich, Switzerland)

Hotel Bristol is centrally located yet in a nice, quiet area. It's a short walk from the main train station, which connects you to the airport in less than 15 minutes and is just steps from the tram. It's also walking distance to numerous city attractions including Old Town, and to lots of restaurants, bars and shops. You are a block away from the river, which is nice for taking a stroll or going for a jog.

While rooms are rather basic, they are very clean and comfortable. They're furnished in a modern, minimal fashion and are comfortable and quiet. The larger rooms are good for families and some include balconies. Also, superior rooms have minibars with drinks included.

Staff is friendly and helpful; they go out of the way to make your stay pleasant and can provide helpful tourist information. The free continental breakfast is excellent with good variety and the service is efficient.

Rooms at Hotel Bristol do not have air conditioning. This may be less of an issue in the off-season but during the summer, they get quite hot and uncomfortable. You can get a fan but really, it can only do so much.

There isn't much offered by way of amenities at Hotel Bristol. Rooms do not have AC or coffee/tea makers and standard rooms don't include a fridge. There is no restaurant or room service. It's acceptable if you just need a place to sleep for a few nights but don't expect anything fancy.

The hotel is pricey for how basic the rooms and amenities offered are; that said, this is central Zurich and hotels are expensive here; the location is excellent.
