The chic Hotel Boterhuis Hotel is housed in a former palace in the heart of Bruges’ historical centre, surrounded by old stone buildings and close to the Markt Plaza among other historical buildings/sites.
Rooms are simple and modern with hardwood floors, air-conditioning, flat-screen televisions and free Wi-Fi. Rooms are all en-suite and wheelchair accessible units are available. Some rooms even offer original features of the building such as fireplaces.
There is private parking space available at a nearby location. The hotel has a courtyard with seating, a piano lounge and a business centre with fax and photocopying services. Bicycle and car rentals can be arranged as well.
The breakfast buffet of fresh breads, cheese, sliced meats, etc., is included in the room charge. Room service is available as well. The hotel bar is open in the evenings.
Hotel Boterhuis is a five-minute walk from the Belfort Tower and Markt Plaza as well as a bus stop.
The hotel can accommodate up to five beds in the family
rooms with ample space for everyone. Pets are also welcome at no extra charge,
which makes Boterhuis even more ideal for a trip with the whole family or a
group of friends, for example.
Central yet quiet location
Boterhuis is located right around the corner from many of
Bruges' charming historical spots as well as restaurants and cafés, however
this does not compromise the peaceful atmosphere in the hotel itself.
Many guests have praised the continental breakfast of fresh
breads, juices, eggs made to order, etc. as being of good quality although it's
basic and a big plus that it is included in the room rate.
Parking is charged daily
There is a parking garage around the corner from the hotel,
however space is limited so you should make a reservation for this and a daily
charge applies, which may amount to a lot over time. It is however private and
The age of the hotel building is to be considered if you have limited mobility or heavy luggage, as some of the rooms are a floor or two up the narrow, winding staircases in the older parts of the building and no lifts are on site.
No restaurant on site
Given that there is no refrigerator or even kettle in the rooms, the lack of a restaurant means eating out for the majority of your stay although a packed lunch can be arranged for you to take on your tours/continuing journey. However, the area has a number of good restaurants and pubs to sample.
