Hotel Big Pines Mountain House (South Lake Tahoe, USA)

The staff are very welcoming and extremely accommodating. The check-in process is made quick and easy with friendly staff members on hand behind the front desk.

This accommodation suits those on a budget and many expected lower grade rooms considering the bargain price they paid. Many however, were pleasantly surprised with the cleanliness and spacious size of the rooms they were assigned. The addition of parking and breakfast is an extra bonus.

The motel is situated in a great position meaning that guests can park their cars and walk to everything. The beach is under ten minutes walk away and a beach pass is easily available. Harvey's Casino is a five-minute walk, as are a number of amenities in Heavenly Village.

The breakfast is included as part of the room rate, but for some this wasn't up to the quality they expected. The options have are mostly baked good and cereals rather than providing a wider range of healthier options.

There is parking for motel guests, however not enough parking to accommodate all guests when the accommodation is busy. This means that those who leave for a day trip may return to find that there are no more spaces available for them.

Some found that the preference for blinds in the rooms, rather than curtains allowed too much morning light to penetrate the room and wake them early. The advice is to bring an eye mask.
