Hotel bh Parque 93 (Bogotá, Colombia)

Breakfast is free and (unusually in many hotels!) it is remarkably good here. ‘Dunno' how many ways there are to scramble eggs but they'll do yours to order and precisely how you want them. There's no later restaurant here though and the fairly limited cafeteria doesn't open until early afternoon.

Standards of cleanliness and hygiene are good and decoration and furnishings are designed to make you feel at home. A further component is found in the members of staff. They are very friendly and helpful and add in no small measure to the success of your visit.

The hotel is in a very good and convenient location. The added advantage is that it feels very safe at all times. Virrey Park is nearby, as is Del Chico Park and Mercedes Sierra de Perez Museum.

It can get very hot here and with no air conditioning - and sometimes only a small window to open to allow something of an air flow - nights can be very uncomfortable and sleep, if any, is very restless.

Sometimes the water just runs out completely. At other times it can't be relied upon and showering can be something of an adventure - not always with a happy ending!

The cost of using the laundry and dry cleaning services is astronomic. Absolutely outrageous and exceptionally poor PR in a hotel where most other services are fine. The check-in procedure, though, is time consuming and almost as annoying as the laundry fiasco.
