Located right across from the Madison Square Shopping Mall, Baymont Inn and Suites is not only in a convenient spot, but also offers decent business friendly accommodation and great leisure amenities. While the rooms have basic décor and furniture, they are very well equipped. They feature flat screen TV’s and fast Wi-Fi, as well as practical amenities like hairdryers, alarm clocks and clothes irons. The outdoor pool is certainly a highlight, but business guests may be more impressed with the fully-equipped business center and the free parking out front. A simple continental breakfast of waffles, cereals, muffins, French toast, pastries and unlimited coffee and juice is available in the breakfast area daily. There are an incredible number of great restaurants within walking distance, including a TGI Fridays and a Denny’s. Downtown Huntsville is less than five miles to the east.
While guests said that it certainly wasn't an especially fancy pool and deck, several traveling in summer appreciated having it available. It enabled them to take a quick refreshing dip during what was often a blistering hot day.
While not mentioned by a great many guests, who perhaps took it for granted, a few did report that they were very satisfied with the Wi-Fi system. It seemed to be reliable and fast enough for their needs.
A number of guests mentioned that they were spoiled for choice when it came to both shopping and dining. Their shopping needs could be met at the regional mall right opposite, and there were said to be many restaurants within walking distance as well.
This was perhaps the most common negative sentiment expressed. Many guests felt that the hotel was many, many years past its due date for a total renovation. To them both the rooms and public areas were looking very tired and drab.
Well, it wasn't so much that the area really was tiny, but simply much too small to cope with the number of hungry guests trying to enjoy breakfast when the hotel was particularly full.
It seems that the hotel does allow smoking in some of its rooms. Not only were some non-smokers put in rooms that had previously been occupied by smokers, but several guests mentioned that many of the hallways smelled of tobacco smoke. Asthmatics and those who dislike smoke should take note.
