You will find awesome coastal beaches, Shore Acres or Sunset Beach State Parks, and a botanical garden not more than twenty-minutes away by car. You can easily test the waves and enjoy the lovely beach. If you can't go too far, the hotel's indoor swimming pool is fantastic and clean.
The hotel location is bizarre. It's bad enough the walls are thin. What's worse is that the way the hotel is situated, you hear noise from two sides, highway 101 south and highway 101 north. Moreover, it's located near train tracks and the train blasts its horn during the early morning hours. It's a nightmare. There's noise from trucks, fast cars, police sirens, and tractor trailers throughout the night.
You will probably find parking a nerve wracking dilemma. If you are on the south-side and arrive late at night, you can forget about getting a parking space. It's pretty cramped for parking, especially with all the huge semi-tractor trailers, trucks, and other large vehicles. You may even find your vehicle with a couple of scratches and dents before your stay is over.
Depending on your level of tolerance, you might find the mattress too hard. The room appears a little outdated as well.
