The Best Western City Centre hotel is located within walking distance of many of Brussels’ attractions. The hotel enjoys a very handy central location which allows you to sample everything that this wonderful city has to offer. The main railway station is just a short walk away and the city centre and also the old town, both with an array of different shops, bars and restaurants, are both within very easy walking distance as are the beautiful Botanical Gardens.
You will always receive a warm welcome and service with a smile from the staff with the staff on the reception desk receiving particular praise for being so helpful and also for being knowledgeable about the area and giving advice and information on everything that there is to see and do in Brussels.
There is lots of space available in the rooms and some have a really nice view of the nearby Botanical Gardens. The bathrooms is also quite large and there is the luxury of a bath as well as a shower which you don't always find in some budget hotels and in addition there is a fridge which is handy to keep drinks cool.
The breakfast provided is typically continental with some hot options such as bacon or frankfurter style sausages, but there isn't any fresh fruit provided and the eggs were given a negative mention for being overcooked and rubbery.
Despite the handy location during the day the neighbourhood doesn't feel particularly safe in the dark with the nearby red light district and unsavoury looking characters.
The general cleanliness of the hotel needs to be improved as there are stained carpets, dusty furniture and just general maintenance issues which need to be addressed.
