Hotel Best Western Bayou Inn and Suites (Lake Charles, USA)

Great location with easy access to shops and a choice of local dining options. A number of casinos are within short driving distance. The Lake Charles Convention and Visitors Bureau, Imperial Calcasieu Museum and North Beach Interstate 10 can be reached within a 10-minute drive.

Guests described the staff as courteous, friendly, helpful, generous and professional. The check-in process is quick and simple. Any problems are also addressed in a quick and efficient manner. Guests were made to feel welcome and cared about during their stay.

The rooms are spacious, well appointed and kept spotlessly clean. The beds are comfortable and the Wi-Fi reliable. Despite being located on a highway guests reported that the rooms are quiet and afford a good nights' sleep. The included breakfast was also tasty and plentiful.

Although the hotel offers non-smoking rooms, mix-ups do occur at times. Guests complained of booking a non-smoking room only to find themselves being booked in a room that smelled of stale smoke. Other guests were bothered by the strong smell of bleach that came from the bathroom.

Some guests had negative customer service experiences with staff who seemed to be unfriendly and aloof. Some staff gave the impression of being indifferent to guests' needs as their complaints were not always addressed.

While the rooms are kept neat, they do not appear to be thoroughly cleaned. Mold has been found growing on the bathroom walls. Surfaces are dusty, not properly clean and at times evidence of previous guests can be found in the rooms.
