Hotel Benidorm (Panama City, Panama)

This hotel is a fine alternative if you don't want to spend much money for accommodations while visiting Panama City. The price is cheap and the facility works out well for short stays.

You will find plenty to do in the hotel vicinity. The proximity to the financial centre is convenient if you are travelling on business. There are fast food places and other restaurants, a pharmacy, and a metro station around the corner. There is also a supermarket, casino, and laundromat.

Surprisingly, the hotel is pet friendly to both dogs and cats.

There may be communication issues. The one person who speaks an adequate amount of English is not there all the time, so if you don't understand Spanish, things can get a bit tricky. It appears the staff are not too enthused about assisting visitors, especially if you do not speak the language.

The hotel is in need of a paint job and the air conditioning doesn't work. Bathroom fixtures are not positioned properly, linens are dirty, and old mattresses smell musty. The worst offender of all, bed bugs and cockroaches are everywhere. Be sure to check your luggage before leaving your room, or you will carry these critters home with you. The TV is not of very much use and only produces static and noise. The channels are very limited as well. Lamps have no light bulb and the ceiling lighting is dismal.

Be careful in the hotel neighbourhood. It's shady and even though there is plenty to do, it's not the best part of town. Even taxis warn visitors about the area!
