Hotel Overlook Lodge And Stone Cottages At Bear Mountain (Fort Montgomery, USA)

Guests love the authentic lodge atmosphere of Bear Mountain Inn with its wooden furniture. It has a quaint and cozy feel and most find the rooms very clean with exceptional views.

You may find it difficult to imagine that you're barely 45 minutes from downtown Manhattan as you appreciate the peace and tranquility of this remote environment. Guests just love inhaling the clean mountain air and setting off on scenic mountain trails.

A lot of guests found the staff to be very friendly and helpful - especially at the front desk and bar.

Although most guests found the rooms to be clean and in good condition, some had reservations about the common areas. They just don't seem to be given the same attention. Some complain that they are dirty, poorly maintained and dated.

If you arrive late at the Mountain Inn, the chances are you won't be able to get a meal. The restaurant seems to be closed in the evening and there aren't any others around for miles. Even when it is open some find the staff difficult to find and not very reactive. The quality of the food is also up for debate - in particular the spartan breakfast.

You may find the lodge...but not very easily. Its isolated location means that it is difficult to access - even your GPS may not recognize it! Once there, the parking is badly lit and, like many other guests, you may end up at completely the wrong building for checking in.
