The Beachwalk Motel Motel is north of Garden City Pier and just below the main activity of Myrtle Beach itself. Rooms vary in size and capacity and include private bathroom, coffee maker, air conditioning, refrigerator, microwave, free WiFi, cable TV, coffee maker and complimentary toiletries. Bed linen and towels are provided and some rooms have a balcony and sea views. The Beachwalk Motel has a seasonal, gated, outdoor pool; plus free car parking and laundry facilities. There's a friendly welcome; a clean, bright and well furnished room with plenty of accessories and the beach is just across the street. Cost wise, it seems cheaper than others in the area, so just relax and enjoy. If you need to keep in touch with reality, the WiFi is free and good.
It's slightly away from the main hustle and bustle, but you can walk there quite easily. Alternatively, it's a few minutes in the car or taxi. One feature here is the lack of high rise buildings, leading to a feeling of space.
It's an old building with some features that don't fill the new arrival with any real confidence. However, the condo is clean. Yes, even including the floors! Beds are comfortable with linen crisp and clean. Somehow, bugs, flies and insects have been banished without trace! Wow!
Broken beds, cigarette ash (!) all over the place and a general lack of any reasonable standards of cleanliness. It takes your breath away .. *Don't breath in again until you are outside the door en-route to somewhere - anywhere - else!
The pool is a turgid mess and not inviting (*but the clear blue sea is across the street!) There's evidence of attempted damage and break ins. Oh! .. and there's no elevator.
It does have a very dated type atmosphere and certainly, it's not the place for those intent on a memorable or romantic break. Even a minimal revamp of the building and the area in general would work wonders.
