Nicely furnished, rooms are clean with comfortable beds and its worth noting that there is good water pressure in the shower! Little things matter - and the supply of free toiletries in the bathroom is more than generous.

Rooms open into a corridor - not into the street. The security system is good too and the key card allocated to guests means that hotel access is restricted to card holders only.

Always pleasant and smiling, even when they are obviously, sometimes, pushed to the limits of what should be expected. Check in staff is great and so too are the breakfast staff who are quick to replenish breakfast items so there are no shortages. Breakfast itself is fine and above the expected average.

This isn't an attractive neighborhood with some pretty unpleasant characters hanging around. Another thing that hangs around is that unmistakable smell of dope! You are aware of these things at all times so you don't necessarily have a good night's sleep; something that isn't helped by the lack of internal soundproofing and constant noise coming from other rooms. The fitness room is unfit for purpose and there are serious cleanliness and hygiene issues involving rubbish accumulating in public corridors for long periods.

There are plumbing problems here that include toilets that don't flush properly. Low water pressure? Possibly! Air conditioning has a life of its own and the beds are hard and uncomfortable.

Wherever you go, there seems to be this pervading smell of all types of smoking. This even applies to the elevator which, incidentally, is disgustingly filthy.
