Hotel Bay Carlton (Great Yarmouth, United Kingdom)

Right on the sea front and an easy walk to shops, restaurants and Yarmouth's many attractions,  the hotel's location was perfect for most guests.

Guests described the rooms as comfortable and spacious. They found the bathrooms well appointed with plenty of hot water and appreciated the hospitality trays. Many guests said the hotel was a perfect base for visiting Yarmouth, others would definitely recommend it to friends.

Yarmouth has plenty of entertainment options but guests needed to venture no further than the hotel lounge for nightly shows, dancing and Bingo games. They enjoyed relaxing with a drink and dining in the on-site restaurant and generally gave a thumbs up to the evening events.

The brisk sea breezes didn't quite blow away the cobwebs of the past and guests described the hotel as a bit faded, dowdy and in need of modernising. Guests also complained about broken wardrobe doors, faded carpets and upholstery and broken or chipped bathroom tiles.

Service in the dining room was less than impressive, guests said. Largely the result of inadequate staffing, this lead to chaotic scenes at breakfast and negative reports from disgruntled guests who had to wait too long for their morning meal.

Elderly guests and those with mobility issues were troubled by the lack of special ramps and other facilities for the disabled. Management, in response, said it hoped to address the problem in the near future.
