The Brown Bear is one of the oldest public houses in Sheffield and it is a Grade 1 listed building, the cellars here date from the 16th century. It is located adjacent to Tudor Square, where the Crucible Theatre and Lyceum Theatres are to be found and the Montgomery Theatre is on the opposite corner. It is therefore a popular venue for theatregoers and the walls of each of its two tiny rooms are covered in theatre posters, many of which have been signed by the cast. The Brown Bear serves traditional Real Ales as well as other alcoholic drinks and soft drinks. Food is served daily between 12midday and 2.30pm and also from 4.30pm until 7.30pm on Mondays to Fridays. The opening hours are: Monday to Saturday - from 11am until 11pm Sunday - from 12midday until 10.30pm.
