Situated right on the Arabian Sea, Hotel Millennium Mussanah is a modern resort with extensive amenities, including its own marina. It offers sleek accommodation to both leisure and business travellers. The rooms have an understated Arabesque feel to them, and feature air conditioning, flat screen TV’s, in-room safes, tea/coffee stations, work desks and telephones. Reception is open 24 hours and can assist with business and concierge services. Motorists will find ample parking, and techies free Wi-Fi throughout. There is also an on-site spa offering a variety of treatments. Al Bahar Restaurant is a very elegant venue, and offers a unique Moroccan-Asian fusion cuisine. It is open for both lunch and dinner. Muscat Airport is 65 miles to the east. The city itself has a history spanning 6000 years, and is just a few miles further away.
This was probably what guests most appreciated about Millennium Mussanah. It was described as being on a fairly remote, and certainly uncrowded, beach. When the weather cooled down a bit, they loved being able to just stroll down there and enjoy the atmosphere.
Guests report that there are a very large number of activities on offer, both by the resort itself and by third party tour operators. Considering the remote location they really appreciated having a lot to do right at the resort itself.
While several guests did have issues with room cleanliness, they otherwise thought quite highly of the rooms. They were said to be spacious, and decorated and furnished in a pleasing way that didn't assault the senses.
An incredible number of guests mentioned that their room was not ready at the stated check-in time. The reason was unclear, perhaps due to a lack of cleaning staff, but whatever it was it caused great irritation, with some adding that the hotel refused to compensate them in any way for the inconvenience.
While some liked the quiet and remote location, it wasn't everyone's cup of tea. The resort is very far from Muscat, and the nearby village did not seem to hold much of interest to tourists.
Most guests who brought up value for money believed they had overpaid for the accommodation and experience they received. The room-rates were said to be very high, with guests saying that the staff service level and attention to detail was simply nowhere near good enough to justify those rates.
