Ashleigh House is a four bedroomed B&B offering clean and very comfortable accommodation at value for money prices. Situated in a quiet residential road a mere five minute walk from the harbour, shops, restaurants and transport links. Beaches are also less than ten minutes' walk. A delicious breakfast is served in the elegant dining room between 8.30 and 9.30 with a wide selection of buffet items as well as the traditional Full English. Free safe street parking is available. Free WiFi throughout. All rooms are equipped with towels, beverage trays, complimentary toiletries and flat screen TV with DVD player. All rooms are cleaned daily and the towels and linen are changed regularly. Three of the four rooms have en-suite shower rooms. The large family room has separate, private bathroom. A residents' lounge and small garden at the front of the house are available for guests to relax. Ashleigh House welcomes well behaved children and dogs. Ashleigh House is open all year .
There are plenty of pubs and restaurants to try in the local area to keep everyone entertained. Those who have stayed and have ventured out, have been most pleased with the amount of places to choose from and say it was a highlight of their stay.
The rooms overlook the cliffs and also the bay which gives guests a beautiful view to look out on. Many people return here year on year due to the location. The harbour is just down the hill and some even say its a refreshing walk back even if you don't like uphill walking!
The owner really does make a huge effort at breakfast time. The reviews state there is an endless amount of food offered each morning which is delicious and well worth trying.
The bed and breakfast is dog friendly which is advertised as being so. People who have stayed have explained the rooms smell strongly of dogs and the house dog roams freely, even coming into your room as and when it pleases.
There seems to be a quite a few occasions when the owner has been rude to guests whilst staying if they have mentioned there is anything wrong. She unfortunately does not resolve issues as quickly as hoped and some people have had to ask many times before the issue was sorted out.
The rooms have been described as grubby, especially the ones which smell of dog. There are hairs on cabinets, the en-suites aren't bleached so there is mould around the sink and shower and the carpets need cleaning.
